What is the VBOX?

VBOX is a leased Portable Managed secure Virtual Layer 2 VPN in a case, enabling the integration of machines in different Geo-locations prior to customer delivery without installing any software.

Is VBOX secure?

Yes, the VBOX solution uses secure Public/Private key encryption and will only accept connections to the customer’s dedicated Virtual Switch Concentrator (VSC) in the VBOX Cloud, ensuring each customer’s privacy and security.

Why is it different to other VPNs?

Typically, VPN software needs to be installed at each endpoint of a network connection, the VBOX solution removes the need to do this. This allows any network device (e.g. PLC, IPC, Printer, laser) to be accessible seamlessly.

How do I set up the VBOX?

VBOXs are preconfigured prior to delivery. It's easy:

  1. Switch on the VBOXs

  2. Connect each VBOX to the internet via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or a Smartphone Hotspot

  3. Connect your machine to the VBOX with an Ethernet cable.

Can I buy a VBOX?

No, VBOXs are a leased product/service, allowing users to avail of the latest technology without capital expenditure.

Where can I use the VBOX?

The VBOX Solution is typically used to integrate machines and SCADA/MES over the Internet seamlessly without any reconfiguration. It allows SAT testing to be performed at the FAT Vendor location prior to delivery of the machines to the end Customer.

No, the VBOX Cloud runs on dedicated hardware. Each customer has its own dedicated Cloud Virtual Switch Concentrator (VSC). Each VBOX leased by the customer is paired to this dedicated VSC.

Do I need to configure my machines in order to use VBOX?

No, all IP addresses to be used at the end customer site can remain unchanged on the Machine/SCADA/MES systems.
